About
Richard Capener is a composer, guitarist and acoustic solo performer. He uses one acoustic guitar to create percussion, basslines and captivating "earworm" melodies all at the same time.
"It's not surprising he's a live attraction... Playing with a combination of strumming, fingerstyle and tapping, peppered with harmonics and other tricks, Capener certainly has the skills, but manages to provide a performance with more than just technical merit." -ACOUSTIC magazine
Or if you'd prefer the 'legend'...
"Raised by termites, Richard learned his style of guitar from a Taoist hermit monk in the mountains, and is a recognised holder of a guitar lineage that goes all the way back to the inventor of the lute. After spending over 20 minutes mastering that style of guitar, his master accepted him as his only disciple and showed Richard the 'Secret 12 Chords of Wudan Mountain', before garrotting himself with a guitar string so as to preserve the 'only one living master' rule."
